Review & GIVEAWAY TIME!!

When I woke up this morning and looked outside, I was thrilled to see that it was raining because that meant Addie and I could finally test out her new clamp-on paper center and crayons!!! All I had to do was say the word "crayon" and she started screaming and jumping up and down :-)

The screaming continued while I clamped the roller on her table and I was pleasantly surprised by how simple it was to assemble and put into use. This isn't always the case with kid's toys and I was happy this one was so easy, especially since the screaming was loud...and in my ear. Ha!

I actually sat across the table from Addie and colored with her. It's funny how the things you loved to do as a kid are just as much fun when you are doing it with your own :-) OH...and do you see how the crayons are not rolling off the table?!! That is probably my favorite feature.

And here we are cleaning up after we finished our masterpiece. Don't get too excited...she wasn't really "cleaning up"...she just liked putting the crayons in their cute little case :-)

Overall, I was pleasantly surprised by both products. As I said, the Guidecraft Clamp On Paper Center was super easy to assemble and clamp to the table. Although I did not take pictures, I did try it on our kitchen and dining room tables and it worked like a charm.

Also, I was very impressed by how sturdy it was. Even when I was unrolling the paper and cutting it to clean up, the paper center stayed in place. This was an especially nice feature because Addie gave it a few tugs herself and it didn't budge.

And speaking of not budging, the Melissa & Doug Triangular Crayons held up their end of the bargain as well! The first thing Addie did when I handed her the case was dump it upside down. With other crayons, this would have surely resulted in me on all fours trying to crawl under a kiddie table. But not this time! The crayons all stayed put, which is more than I can say for Addie's scribbles. We missed the paper on more than one occasion, but luckily all it took was a baby wipe and we were good as new! I heart washable crayons :-)

So...have I sold you on these items yet? If I haven't, maybe the price will seal the deal for you. As I said in my previous post, I found these fantastic items at AllChildrensFurniture.com. This site has everything from toys, to bedding, to kids chairs! You can find both of the items I reviewed under playtime/arts and crafts. When you get there, I am sure you will be as shocked as I am to find that this awesome paper center is only $9.99!!! And the crayons are only $3.50!!!

Even though these prices are unbeatable (literally...I checked), the wonderful folks at AllChildrensFurniture.com are letting me give away both FOR FREE to one lucky reader! That's right...one lucky reader will win:

  3. Awesome! I love those two items. I'm always chasing Sophia's crayons around the living room.

Um, does Addie not try to eat the crayons? Sophia is still in that phase..can't blame her when she's cutting 3 molars!

Unfortunately I am not yet living in the US again or I'd be all over this. I wonder if they ship to Canada? Or maybe I'll just have to wait until we get moved down next spring to purchase them.

Thanks for doing the review. I hate when I buy stuff and then it's a waste!

  4. I love playing with blocks indoors with my son. He is just over 11 months old and not walking yet, so I love sitting on the floor and building towers and he comes and knocks them down:)

  6. That is so awesome!!! My girls would absolutely go bananas for that. They are so into drawing, one designing houses and the other designing clothes. Maybe one day, one can design and build me a new house and the other can design my clothes. Now if I can get the other one to be a doctor I may be set :)
One thing my girls love doing is cooking. It is a math and science lesson along with a health and etiquette lesson.

  10. Oh, that looks like lots of fun for the winter! We have a chalkboard as the front of our fridge so our indoor activity is writing and drawing on it with chalkboard chalk. (yes, it is a legit chalkboard that I "borrowed" from school and Eric cut to fit the fridge).

  13. I love these items Jen! Mason and I enjoy coloring so much these days! Since he started in the new room at daycare he has LOVED coloring. It's so cute he climbs up and sits in my lap at the kitchen table and we color together. The part that stinks is when the crayons roll onto the floor and since he's on my lap......well you know the rest, it's no fun chasing crayons. Another indoor activity Mason loves is to throw things for the cat to chase allover the wood floors.

    Great Giveaway girl!

  22. Hey Jen! I see our girls have similar tastes. Maddie and I have all sorts of indoor activities that we like to do; she has a tea set that she likes, she organizes her toys by grouping them together, we like to read, color, and play with her kitchen (these are most our indoor activities). I would love to win these items to use instead of trying to hold a notebook in place while she colors! -Deanna

  31. The girls would love this!

We love to read, do puzzles, pull ducks through the house (that make a noise "wa-wa-wa-wa-wa SO annoying). Take things out of the cupboards, and chase kitty.

We have attempted coloring only a few times as it turns into "lets color everywhere" or "yummy, crayons!"

  32. Umm, indoors? Liam LOVES outdoors. I don't know what I am going to do this winter. It has been raining the last couple days and every time we pass the door, he cries to go outside but I have to tell him it's too wet and cold. He's just starting to get into drawing/coloring but I haven't bought any crayons yet so we would love these!
