When is it Okay to Spend $45 on a T-Shirt?

That is the question of the day my friends. I have come to accept the fact that my fitted t-shirts will not be making their debut for several months (thanks to post-baby chub) but in the meantime, I need to find some loose fitting tees to camouflage my mid section. Well, I came across these adorable slub cotton tees at JCrew and they are exactly what I am looking for.

So what's the problem you ask? Well...they are $45 each!! I know to some that isn't a lot of money for a top but for me (a girl who is serious about budgeting this year) it is. I would want at least two, and that is almost $100 for two freaking t-shirts!!! I just can't do it. Or at least I don't think I can. HA! So what I want to know is...do any of you have a favorite t-shirt that might meet my needs right now? Where did you get it and what was the price tag? Would you be able to justify $45 for a tee if it was really, really cute?

  1. Honestly, it looks wonderful and if someone has the money, fabulous but...I don't. I will tell you that the first thing I do when I find something I want is google "coupon code" with the name of the store and freqently there is 20% off.. That sometimes makes the difference between buying and not buying for me...

Coldwater creek has a lot of nice -really nice - things and some great sales this time of year. As does nordstrom.com

  3. I could never justify the cost but when one is post-partem and wants to feel good...maybe that is the way to go. I found some great long sleeved shirts at Old Navy after I had the baby. And Target.

  5. I would buy a $45 shirt. Although I think the hubs would agree I spend too much on clothes LOL.

I like J-crew tees, but they may have the same price tag.

Good luck finding a tee, I say buy it, you just had a baby you should treat yourself!!

  6. I couldn't do it. I could spend 45 for a massage or something extra special but a t-shirt, that one is kind of hard. There are so many out there.

Plus, something tells me you don't have chub. I have yet to see chub in any picture! :)
