Nothing Short of Magical

The first snow of the season is nothing short of magical. I have always felt that way, ever since I was a little kid. My Dad couldn't wait for that first snowflake to fall so that he could take us outside to play. The ground was white...soft...untouched...and we would all race to be the first ones to mess it up with snow angels and sled tracks.

Today...Blake was the first one out the door. The look on his little face when he saw the snow for the first time was priceless. He has seen snow before, but only through a blanket in his baby carrier. This winter...he finally gets to have a little fun :-)

And this girl...well...she was just in heaven. She just danced around the yard whispering amazing...

A few years ago, my Dad made Addison a beautiful sled. She is far too busy to sit in it this year, so Blake got it all to himself...

I must have pulled him around the yard 10 times and he STILL wasn't ready to go in...

And neither was Mr. Howard...

He probably made 20 laps around the yard. I have never seen a dog love snow more than this guy...

Well...except for maybe this guy...

It's not often that we get a great snow like this on a weekend. It seems around here, it is always on a work day when poor Eric has to sit in the car for hours trying to get to the shop. So when he woke up this morning, saw the snow, and realized it was a Saturday...he lit up like a Christmas tree :-)

He was the first to make a snow angel...

But Addie joined him for the second...

After Addie and Daddy were done making snow angels, they started work on their first snowman...

Tell me that is not the cutest snowman you have ever seen?

The only thing better than playing outside in the snow all morning is coming in to a nice cup of hot chocolate (with whip cream and sprinkles of course)...

I have a feeling nap time is going to go well today :-) And while the kiddies and Eric and Howie nap, I am going to wrap Christmas presents. I really can't think of a more perfect Saturday. Have a great weekend friends!
