What to Do On a Beautiful Fall Weekend...

Visit a pumpkin patch...

Carve some pumpkins...

And cuddle up in your jammies, eat popcorn, and watch "It's the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown"...

Well...that's at least how we chose to spend this beautiful fall weekend. We had been looking for a day to visit our local pumpkin patch, but with busy schedules and not-so-great weather...we were starting to get worried if we would ever make it out there!!

So when my brother and sis-in-law suggested we take the kids on Saturday, we jumped at the chance.

Every year, Addie gets a big kick out of all the playhouses at the farm...

And this year...another certain someone wanted in on the fun!!

He thought these houses were the neatest things ever. It's obvious the pumpkin farm is much more fun when you can run and play.

And that's exactly what these kiddies did.

While Blake was busy cruising around with Daddy...

Addie was busy cruising on some random boy she met in the pirate ship.

Addie tells me this boy's name was "Captain Hook" but I'm certain that's not true. I mean...at least I hope not. For his sake.

But regardless of his name or age, Addie took to him like she'd known him her whole life.

I swear...I can't take this girl anywhere these days without her flirting with someone.

Luckily, my little Blakey Boy has no interest in flirting. He is still all about his momma...and firetrucks :-)

I really do think this Firetruck is adorable, but I could do without this bell...

Especially when you hear it ringing every five seconds at the farm. You know, from kids like this...

But it's all in good fun. The kids have the best time when they are here and since this is the first time that Daddy has been able to go with us, Addie wanted to show him all of her favorite spots. Like the hay...

And the big pumpkin growth chart...

And of course, the animals.

Oh look...here's another animal. My little kitty cat :-)

After a while of playing, another special pumpkin arrived...

This was baby Owen's first trip to the pumpkin patch so Addie and Blake wanted to give him a run-down on the whole pumpkin picking process (try saying that 3 times really fast :-)

You see...first you must sit on all the pumpkins to make sure they are sturdy...

Next, make sure the pumpkin you select isn't to heavy to lift yourself...

If it is, make sure you get yourself a wheelbarrow...

Or switch to a smaller pumpkin...

That way, you can load it up yourself...

Again...

And again...

And then when you are all done, you can push your pumpkins around the farm.

Or you can just hop in and take a ride :-)

Speaking of rides...

Uncle Ryan...

And Papa...

Both really wanted to check out the little train that runs around the farm. We have never ridden it before, but you know my girl never passes up the opportunity to ride one when she has the chance.

It was a really cute train, and something tells me I can see Uncle Ryan building something like this for Owen in his backyard. Ha!

Blakey Boy isn't really down with rides right now, so he just hung out with Papa.

Before we left, we wanted to get just a few pictures of the kids wearing the ADORABLE spider shirts my mom made them. Seriously...she needs to open her etsy store back up. That's all I'm saying. Aren't they precious?

Getting a good picture of a 4-month-old, 1-year-old and 3-year-old is quite a challenge. Addie did great (she loves posing these days) and Owen just kind of hung out. But Blake...he is a man on the go and sitting for a picture is NOT on his list of favorite things.

So we gave up and decided to just take one of this cute little pumpkin :-)

As you can see, we really had a fantastic time at the pumpkin farm this year and I am so glad that we waited and went on such a beautiful day.

And thanks to all the running around that morning, the kids took GREAT naps and then we woke up to do some carving.

Of course, neither of them wanted to scoop the guts, so that was Daddy's job :-)

And so was the carving. I helped a little too :-)

So here they are...our two beautiful jack-o-lanterns!!!

And here they are all lit up...

I am getting really, really excited for Halloween now!!

  2. Super cute post Jen! I am actually a little jealous. We didn't get to go to a pumpkin patch this year because all of our weekends have been crazy. It looks like you all had a blast and I am so glad Eric got to go this year!
