Stop & Smell the Roses {Week 19} Planners, Planners, Planners

Happy Wednesday everyone!!! It'a beautiful morning, I got a fabulous 4-mile run in, I'm showered, my kids are happy and I'm excited to be linking up with Mandy for another week of...

This week I am talking about a subject that I just can't get enough of...organization. Or, more specifically, planners. My mom and I are HUGE planner junkies and we have seriously tried almost every brand and size of planner on the market over the years. We should seriously own stock in Franklin Covey.

Anyway, I tried to keep with the trend of talking about my Erin Condren Planner, but I also wanted to show you guys just how bad my planner addiction is.

It's borderline ridiculous :-) any of you have a planner addiction like ours?

Here are links to the planner companies I talk about, in case you are interested :-)

  1. Omg Jen you are cracking me up! Hoarder!! I have yet to get an EC planner bc i can't justify the cost just yet. But I may cave since everyone keeps raving abt them. I'm lost without my planner. I also sync our calendars on our phones but I love paper too!

  2. I have a serious organizational problem, too. I want everything written down, all the time! I tried just about every planner there is at Target and none of them are exactly what I'm looking for! It's time, especially since school starts again in a month and a half, that I get something new and improved so I can document and organize everything... :) Thanks for the suggestions! You look gorgeous and I'm glad you're having a better day so far! Love you :) xoxo

    1. KENZ!!! You were the only one I couldn't reply to via e-mail. But I wanted to make sure I said thanks for your SUPER sweet comments as always. You're all doll. And if you ever want to talk know who to call. Talk to you soon sweetie!! xoxo

  3. I actually sent an email to Erin Condren and asked if there would ever be a smaller version of her planner. I LOVE hers but the size is way too big for my purse. I was told there were no plans to make a smaller one. Okay then! Hopefully she will listen to people and make a smaller size. Because if she did I would buy one forever...I like her planner THAT much! I love me some paper as well even though I use my calendar on my iPhone. I may just have to go back to my Franklin Covey until EC comes up with something smaller! Erin, are you listening???? :)

  4. Ok, I'm dying that you still have your planner from college! Impressive! I just found mine when I went through the basement yesterday and....WOW...most of my nights said "Pinch Penny". Haha! Oh the good ole days! Love your EC planner! You got that one in December? From what I have been told her newer one is much smaller than last years (the one that just came out in June). Not that you need to be ANOTHER one, but just in case you were curious. :)

  5. Baaahaha! "Hoarderrr!" I laughed out loud.

Oh, Jen, you truly are a planner junkie! I've got a few FiloFax planners and a Paperchase one right now but nothing like your stash. That is truly impressive, girlfriend! (and is it weird that I got excited seeing all of your planners and I'm dying to hop out to the store and buy myself a new one now?!) I was only introduced to EC planners today on Mandy's vlog (and now yours) but I WANT ONE SO BAD (well, I want two - one for my personal life and one for teaching). They're amazing! Oddly enough, my purse is so massive (Carl calls it my Mary Poppins bag) that the big one would fit in my bag! I don't have little babies and diaper bags yet though so I can see that changing as soon as the pitter patter of feet arrive. A 'medium/small' size one would be fab! Maybe if enough people get in touch complaining about creating a smaller one they'll take notice and get their butts in gear! But seriously, how have I noy known about these? Have I been living under a rock? Ah well, I'm begging Carl for one for Christmas! Ha!

Loved your vlog (your new hair-do is SO lovely) and it was so great to see your pretty face again! Love ya, Twinnie! xoxo

  6. I adore you!! {"Hoarder!" Haha!!} And I totally have that exact same pink Franklin Covey planner from college. Loved it and have tried to continue using it, but it's just so big that it hasn't worked well! I sync iPhone calendars with my hubby too, but like you, I love having something to write in and am constantly on the lookout for the perfect planner. I'm using a thin one from Target now, but have had my eye on the Erin Condren ones. Also, I'm curious about your home management binder. I've tried putting one of those together and haven't been very successful. Any tips or resources you would recommend?

  7. Loved this post! I am a total organization junkie, too, although I don't have as many planners as you do ;o) I've heard great things about the most recent release of the Erin Condren planner from June as well! Glad to have found you today from the linkup!

  8. LOL you are so cute and funny! When I started realizing I needed a planner, my first was a Franklin, it was a family tradition. I then went on to the myagenda and made the switch to EC last year. Good to see you link up!

  9. I freaking ADORE you!! First things first- thank GOD for a brand new day. Second? "Hoarder!" had me laughing out loud! When we cleaned out our office to make it the new nursery earlier this year, I came across my "compact" F&C and to be frank, there was nothing compact about that sucker! Also? Mike asked me to throw it out... and I couldn't. I've been out of college for 6 years. I clearly have issues. I also love my life planner but am DESPERATE for something take along size! I was thinking of going back to the MomAgenda! Please let me know if you find something else that you love!! I could talk planned with you alllll day! So glad I linked up today!!! XOXO

  10. All I have is a big LOL! ;-) Love ya!

  11. HOARDER!! You're too funny. I was happy to learn about your planner addiction... but I couldn't stop staring at your necklace-- it's adorable!

  12. I am using a Day One planner for wedding stuff. I really like it but it is not small. It is one of those mini briefcases. I have everything from our venue contract to a monthly calendar that I printed. It looks like organized chaos, but I know where everything is. If any organized person saw it they would have to re organize it, but I know where things are. Anyways, it is so awesome that you are just as excited for my wedding as I am. At one month I felt like everything was done. Now I feel like NOTHING is done. I have to put together favors this week and make wedding cake shaped sugar cookies next week. Please tell me all this work is worth seeing him as I come down the aisle?

  13. I'm a new follower of your blog. I found you from the SASTR link up. I just found that blog too, and maybe next time I'll do my very first vlog to link up.

I loved your vlog this week. My second EC lifeplanner is coming in the mail today and I'm pretty excited for it.

I look forward to reading more.

  14. I should have known you were a planner hoarder!! I can't wait until I unpack my house...You will die when you see my giant stack like yours. I believe I still have a few of my planners from MIDDLE SCHOOL which consisted of countdowns to the NSYNC concerts I attended and the writing was ONLY in jelly roll pens. Kindred spirits we are! As far as planners, I really do love my Erin Condren one and will probably order a new one in December. BUT, in 2010, I used a Lilly Pulitzer planner and I absolutely loved it. This is the year I got married and I toted my planner everywhere with my wedding planning notebook. It's the perfect size to slip in your purse and has so much space to write on the daily sections, as well as a great pocket in the back and there is also a month at a glance calendar. You should definitely check it out!

Missing you! I could go for another lunch date right about now... xxx :)
