Tuesday Tid-Bits

  • For starters, I just want to give a quick update on the 30 Day Fitness Challenge that I posted about last week. I am just overwhelmed by how fantastic this group has become!!! If you left me a comment on last week's post and I haven't already gotten back to you via e-mail about joining our Facebook group, please send me an e-mail at adailydoseofdavis{at}gmail{dot}com. Today starts Day 4 for all of us and incase any of you want to join in but don't have a Facebook account, I am going to make Fridays our Weigh In/Check-In day on the blog. Thanks to EVERYONE that is already a part of this group. The support and enthusiasm has just been incredible :-)
  • I cannot believe that so many people are going back to school next week!!!! Where did this summer go? I already have my faculty meeting next week which means summer is over for me at that point. I can't lie...I'm not even sad about it :-)
  • I just assessed all of the kids school clothes and we are in pretty great shape!! I did just order them all their new shoes at Piperlime.com because if you order 4 pairs today, you get 30% off with code SCHOOL. That code is good on a lot of sale kids shoes too. My kids are obsessed with Puma tennies and they hold up SO WELL. They are totally worth the money in my opinion.
  • Are you guys liking my blog redesign? There is SOOOOOO much I still have to do, including all of my link pages at the top. But I only have one week left before my focus is back to school so I gotta get my butt in gear :-)
  • My mom and I have been starting to plan all of the great stuff we want to add to The Polka Dot Posie for the holiday season and we are SO EXCITED!!! We've been so busy with the business this summer we really haven't had time to get as much new stuff up as we wanted. We aren't complaining by any means, but it's time to start stocking the shelves for Christmas!! But stay tuned, we have a fabulous Back-to-School coupon code coming to you next week!!!!
  • I've had a pair of Frye boots in my shopping cart at Zappos for over a year. I look at them all the time but just can't pull the trigger. There is so much other stuff I could buy with that money, but every year I am forced to buy new boots because the inexpensive ones I get look shabby. What do you guys think? Splurge on great boots that will last for years to come, or just stick it out with the inexpensive ones so you can change them up every year??? Does anyone own a pair of Fryes? Are they worth the money??
  • And finally...even though I said I was NOT going to mess with another blog sale for a very long time...my eBay pile is getting HUGE in the basement and I thought what the heck. I have a ton of great fall/winter clothes that didn't go the last time I had a blog sale (in the spring) and I also have a bunch of great kids shoes, winter coats, baby beddings, etc. that I am ready to part with. I'm hoping to have that up next week as well :-)
Well that's all I have today guys! We are trying to cram in as many playmates as possible this week before everyone is back to school. Thank God for beautiful weather this last week :-)

  3. I have a pair of Frye boots that I love. The more wear they have on them, the cuter they look too. Buy them Jen - you deserve it!

  5. I am SO glad you started Operation LGN. It's been so motivational and I've loved getting to meet all of your inspirational friends. Clever Jen :)

I know I've already told you this in a text, but I love it THAT much I'm saying it again here. I LOVE your new design, it's a polka dot lovers DREAM! Great job, girlfriend! Did you use any of My Memories Suit? I totally need to have you teach me some tricks of the trade, my blog is seriously lacking in gloriousness. I'd like to vamp it up within the next couple of months.

I'm clearly living in a cave as I've never heard of Frye boots? I plan to google that pronto!

And just as I went to hit the publish button I've just noticed you have my button in your sidebar. I may or may not have got teary eyed, you're SO SWEET!! Thank you so much you're such an awesome friend and I love you to bits!

    Love ya xoxoxo

    1. The group has been SO MUCH fun, hasn't it? I love feeling accountable and guilty if I don't check in and have a good workout to share. I'm glad everyone else is enjoying it too.

And thanks for the blog love my dear! I knew you would appreciate my polka dots. I will definitely help you with My Memories Suite so you can revamp yours. Once you know how to do it all, you will want to change your blog every week. hahaha!

      Love ya too doll! xoxo

  6. Dude. Did you miss the Nordys anniversary sale?!?! Frye boots were $150 off or something crazy! Not that I own a pair. Queen of cheap... Me! But really, if I were tall (ahem), slender (ahem), and could fit Fryes over my calves I probably would buy a pair! I bet they will last at least 3-4 yrs.

In all seriousness, I am NOT a proponent of buying ridiculously expensive things. But, having a nice pair of boots that you will wear ALL the damned time? Sold. You own Uggs! Those aren't even functional! ;-) Shoot, with $ from your blog sale they'll be pennies! Hahahaha.

How convincing am I?! How much do ya love me?! LOL

    1. I saw the Anniversary Sale and they had some killer deals on Fryes...just not the style I want. Of course the style I want is ONLY on Zappos where I can never get them on sale. Boo! But you are right...maybe a successful blog sale will change my mind :-)

  7. BUY THE FRYES!!! I am buying my first pair this fall and if that's the only thing I purchase for my Fall wardrobe, I know it will be money well spent. Several of my friends swear by their Fryes and say they will never buy another brand of boot again. My mom said she had a pair in the 70s and gave them away a few years ago!! GAH! MOM!!! I could have had vintage ones :)

On another note, loving all the motivation on the LGN page. I love watching others make positive changes and it's fun to encourage each other along the way! XOXOXO
