I know we still have a few more weeks until Labor Day, but this weekend truly felt like the start of Fall. The weather was absolutely GORGEOUS here!!! We couldn't have picked a better weekend to squeeze in a camping trip. For the first time in a very, VERY long time, we were all able to play outside without sweating our booties off. And the kids were so happy about that.
And so was I :-) I could drink my coffee hot AND wear a hoodie.
This summer, Eric and the kids and I have made a lot of great new friends at our campground. Addie and Blake know all the kids by name and whenever we pull up and see the other campers, the kids go running for their buddies. Here they are with two of their friends watching a movie this weekend.
Such cuties :-)
Even though the weather was chilly and very fall-like at night and in the morning, the afternoons got warm enough to swim. Apparently, not everyone realized this so we practically had the beach to ourselves on Friday. It was wonderful!!
We didn't waste one second of this beautiful weather. If we weren't swimming in the lake or building sand castles, we were canoeing with my father-in-law, paying at the playground or doing some serious fishing.
Fishing has truly become one of Addie's favorite things to do, which makes her Daddy very happy :-)
The kids went NON. STOP. this weekend. No naps. No quiet time. I was actually a little worried they wouldn't last when my parents came down Saturday night for dinner, but they did. And then some :-)
Once a month, our club hires a DJ to play at the pavilion and put on a little party. There's music, a disco ball, glow sticks for the kids and a big bubble machine. I don't know what it is about kids and bubbles...but as soon as these two saw that thing turn on...they went running.
Although, I'm not even sure Blake noticed the bubbles once he got there because he was too busy picking up chicks.
But Addie was in heaven.
She just ran...and ran...and ran. With no shoes on.
These two partied the night away dancing and goofing off with all the other kids. After that, we ate some s'mores, did some cuddling, washed a pound of dirt off their bodies, and they were out like a light.
Eric and I got to spend the rest of the night relaxing by the fire. It was such a perfect weekend...I almost sad to come home today.
But we've got a very busy week ahead, which is why I am so glad we were able to get away while we could. The kids had a blast and we are already counting the days until Labor Day :-)
