Project Pinterest: {Spiked} Crockpot Carmel Apple Cider, A Halloween Treat for Kids & The Best Fall Snack Mix Ever

Okay...I am having too much fun doing this Project Pinterest link-up with AP. I've been averaging about 3 Pinterest inspired projects/recipes/crafts/outfits a week and what a fun way to showcase them!!!
This week's projects were all created in preparation for our halloween camping trip...but I will be making them ALL again this month. And the cider I will make probably another 20 times this season. Ha!
Project 1: Halloween Peep Treats

I am not even sure when I pinned this adorable idea, but I knew that I would find a way to use it. I LOVE peeps, but they are a pretty difficult treat to pass out. However, I realized this year that Peeps are AWESOME for camping because you can roast them on a fire or smash them in a s'more if you want. And since we headed out to camp with a bunch of our friends this weekend, I thought they were the PERFECT treat for the occasion :-)

I ended up creating my own label because I like to punch them out with a circle and tie them with black and white baker's twine :-) If you like the tags on the original pin and would like them personalized for your kids, the designer has them for sale {follow the pin link above}. Otherwise, you can download a generic circle tag like mine here.

Project 2: Fall Snack Mix

When it comes to snack really can't go wrong. I pinned this snack mix a while back and although I used most of the same ingredients, I kept out the peanuts since I knew we would be around a lot of kids this weekend. But as you can see, the mix still turned out SO CUTE!!

I used:

Pretzel Squares
Market Pantry Cheese Crackers
Frosted Cheerios
Candy Corn
Candy Pumpkins

And then to serve this mix to all our camping buddies, I bought a bunch of popcorn cups in the Dollar Bin at Target. They come in a pack of 3. It made the perfect treat at movie time :-)

Project 3: {Spiked} Starbucks Carmel Apple Cider

Now let me just say...I am huge fan of cider in general. I can drink it all year long. And when I was pregnant, and couldn't indulge in my usual cup of coffee a day...I often opted for a Starbucks Carmel Apple Cider. YUM!! So when I found this pin I was like SCORE!!!

I had every intention of leaving the recipe as-is...but when you are it's bitter ass cold outside...sometimes you need a little something extra to warm you up. So I added some spiced rum to this mix and it was DE-LICIOUS!! A little too delicious...if you know what I'm sayin...

  1. Yum, I love SB carmel apple cider. I love those halloween peeps!

  2. I never would have thought of peeps for s'mores but that is a fantastic idea!

  3. Happy Halloween "from your peeps..." Dying. That is too awesome and what a GREAT idea for camping! I love the idea of smushing them into s'mores! I may have to pick up a box for patio fires- even though it went from Fall to FREEZING here at night... 30*! WTF?!!? Love. Thanks so much for linking up and WAY TO ROCK THE PIN-DOING! You are on FIYAH!!!

  4. Go mama!! One for the kiddies and one for Mama :)

  5. You are just an over achiever this week!! Love them all and that cider WILL be in my belly soon!!

  6. I have to have that snack mix and I have to have it NOW!!!

  7. That snack mix looks dangerous (in a good way of course!) Thanks for sharing!

  8. That snack mix looks delicious. I don't think it would last 10 minutes in my house. And the containers are adorable! Are they plastic? So cute!

  9. I think I am going to have to make all three of these!!!! Thanks for sharing:)
