For Someone Who Started Counting Down to Christmas in July...

It's amazing how happy I am that the holidays are over and we are finally starting to get back into a routine around here.

Now don't get me wrong...I was definitely wiping away tears as I was packing up our tree this year. In fact, I would have given just about anything to hit rewind and do it all over again. Addie and Blake were at the PERFECT age this year to really experience all the magic of Christmas. I tried to treasure every single moment with them.

But once all the excitement of Christmas was over and we spent that looooooooong week of New Years at home without a single class, activity or commitment...I was ready to say farewell to the holidays. Even with a house full of brand new toys...the kids were straight up BORED and begged me almost every day to go somewhere. Addie was even counting down the number of sleeps until Preschool. That chick couldn't fly out of my car fast enough yesterday. And today, Blake was ready for his 11:00am library class the MINUTE he woke up.

And if we're being honest here, it has felt really good to shower and get ready the last few days. Ha! I was sick to death of my yoga pants (for maybe the first time ever) and I realized that I was craving routine as much as the kids.

We've spent the last two days getting back into our groove and I've been working like a crazy woman to get a bunch of New Years business taken care of. You know, setting up my new planner (which I will talk about another day), making yearly appointments., organizing and purging, getting my syllabus ready for a new semester, drinking LOTS of coffee {and hot chocolate}...

And of course, revamping our SHOP!!! The Polka Dot Posie is back in business and we have some exciting stuff to share tomorrow. We have a busy few months ahead of us adding new items, replenishing stock, etc., but we think you will like our little spring "preview".

Now if you'll excuse me...I have some French Onion soup to make :-)

  1. Ooohh.... Soup sounds yummy! Mind setting a place for me at the table tonight? LOL

  2. That picture of you and miss Addie is SO adorable. :) Believe it or not, I'm happy to be back to work because my body was craving routine in the worst way.
